CALIFORNIA (AP) The state’s largest-selling candle supply has hit a critical threshold of more than 20 million candles, the state’s biggest retailers say.
Bulk candles sold in California in August reached nearly 30 million, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACOS) said Thursday.
The industry-supported trade group says demand for bulk candles is strong, and it expects to see demand for other types of candles increase in the coming months.NACOs chairman, Michael Hagen, says demand is so high that retailers have decided to reduce the number of bulk candles that are available.
Hagen says the industry is still seeing demand for specialty bulk candles and bulk candles at the end of August.
The NACOS said it expects bulk candles to continue to decline in 2018.
