Harlequin Candle Company announced plans to shut down in 2018 and mothballed its Candle Magic company.
Harlequins Candle Magic will no longer sell any Harlephant candles, and it will no long be producing LEMO candles.
The company was founded in 2012 by two brothers in the US who, like Harleqis founders, are also passionate about their love of candlemaking.
“We love the world of candles and are passionate about them,” John and Jason Harle, who run the company in Virginia, said in a statement.
“The future is bright, but we need to find a way to balance our passion with our business operations and business model.”
The company also said that it was shutting down production of its candle-making machines and plans to phase out its candle product line in 2019.
Harlots Candle Magic started selling its products in 2015, but in 2016 shut down production and began selling off its inventory.
“As we continue to evolve and grow our business, we will be exploring the option to shut our operations down in the coming months,” the company said.
